Current Initiative

Over the last few weeks, the Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce leadership has been meeting with our Senators and Representatives to discuss legislative priorities for the 2019 session. One of the key issues that will be decided this session is an increase to the minimum wage. While we have taken a position of recommending no increase to the minimum wage, we believe that an increase is highly likely. Our legislators are asking for data on the impact of an increase to minimum wage on our members.

Here is what we need from you. Please complete a short survey that represents your company’s information by clicking here.

This survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Your answers will be consolidated along with answers to the same survey from members of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hawaii and the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce. This data will be provided to our legislators for their consideration as they debate the minimum wage issue. The summary results of this survey will also be provided in the March HICC newsletter.
