Hilo & East Hawaii

East Hawaii Island, where the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce is centered, also holds Hilo, an area of about 41,000 residents, which is the county seat of government. Downtown Hilo is a quaint town, undergoing a renaissance.

Hilo Harbor is a berth place for a plethora of cruise lines visiting our Islands. The Hilo Harbor has long been an important part of the business and visitor industries. In 1902, the now famously romantic Lurline began San Francisco to Hilo steamship service.

We also have an international airport at Hilo and we’re the gateway to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
